Plan for Education, Advocacy, and Community Engagement

ibsi ambassadors

an initiative for the community

IBSI’s Plan for Education, Advocacy & Community Engagement recruits Black American men and women to embark on a 9-month journey of discovery to become IBSI Ambassadors. IBSI Ambassadors will help serve as the hub of Black-Jewish/Africa-Israel synergy in their area. Beginning September 2023, IBSI Ambassadors meet once a month to unpack various topics such as ancient Israel, modern Israel, the Africa-Israel relationship, the Black-Jewish relationship, the United Nations, and much more. The 9-month journey also incudes two overseas trips:

• South Africa - December 4 - 15, 2023
• Israel - June 2 - 13, 2024

Cost for the entire P.E.A.C.E. Initiative is a $600 registration fee ($300 per overseas trip), which can be paid all at once, in installments, or raised in fundraising campaign.

The nation of Israel’s first diplomatic relationship was with Ethiopia when King Solomon received Queen Makeda in Jerusalem some 3,000 years ago. IBSI believes it is very significant that ancient Israel’s first official friend and ally was the most powerful African nation of that day, and that Africa-Israel solidarity is both mutually beneficial and a divine mandate. Queen Makeda is a model for IBSI Ambassadors.

IBSI Pastors

An initiative for pastors and ministry leaders

The purpose for IBSI’s Plan for Education, Advocacy & Community Engagement is to immerse pastors and ministry leaders in the two most important aspects of the Israel discussion: Faith and Justice. Especially for Black/African leaders, the issue of Israel and/or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has centered both modern Israel’s biblical identity and the treatment of the Arab Palestinian people. From Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s defense of Israel and condemnation of antisemitism, to Nelson Mandela’s defense of Israel and of Palestinian human rights, Black voices have been sought after in this international arena for decades. Add to this Israel’s long and, at times, difficult relationship with African nations in the face of a rapidly changing Africa & Middle East, and Black voices are needed now like never before.

The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative is a 9-month journey for 20 pastors/clergy who will meet online every second Saturday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM Eastern beginning September 2023 and ending in May 2024. The discussion topics will include ancient Israel, modern Israel, the multiethnic Hebrew people, the Arab Palestinians, and more. Guest speaker will include  American, African, and Israeli subject matter experts. The 9-month journey will also include two overseas trips:

• SOUTH AFRICA - November 24 -December 4, 2023
• ISRAEL - May 23 - June 2, 2024

Cost for the entire P.E.A.C.E. Initiative is a $600 registration fee ($300 per overseas trip), which can be paid all at once, in installments, or raised in fundraising campaign.
